PERSONALITY: Sammy is most motivated by the fact that his fiance has disappeared. It is the entire reason he moves to King Falls where Jack had gone before he disappeared. He wants to find answers to what happened to him and even so, he keeps this a complete secret from everyone that he meets in King Falls. While Jack had believed in all the supernatural or at least was open to it, Sammy maintains outward disbelief and cynicism about all the ridiculous happenings in King Falls. He is very adamant that things like werewolves, vampires and so forth cannot exist and people are just faking or having some sort of mental break.
Sammy becomes more and more accepting of the supernatural and the more he finds out that Jack might have been pulled into another sort of dimension he becomes obsessed with the idea of saving him. While this is a primary motivator for him, he's also very present for the plight of the people he cares about and he never becomes completely wrapped up in his own pain. He is there for Ben when Ben's love interest disappears and works to protect Ben from some painful information but at the same time always trying to support him whether that means telling Ben that he thinks what he is doing is wrong or that there are better ways to approach their problems.
Despite Sammy's open attempts to be supportive as a friend, he has trouble being forthright about his own issues. It's over a year before anyone finds out why he really came to King Falls. He has a hard time being vulnerable and even when people find out there's a certain arm's length that he tends to hold the people close to him to when it comes to his own problems -- for the most part trying to find solutions on his own without letting others help despite it being reckless.
Sammy tends to approach every situation with a healthy dose of sarcasm and cynicism but when people are in trouble there is always genuine compassion there.
POWER: Sammy has no known canon powers.
Cutting Words: Sammy's able to use his words to inflict physical harm -- in the form of knife-like slash wounds. This can't be used accidentally. The subject that he's attacking must be within 5 feet of him for it to have any physical effect. Using this power would also have a heavy toll on his energy.
Magical Hippie Oats: When Sammy makes his hippie oatmeal it has restorative powers. When someone eats them they will feel warm, heal and revitalize.

I'm Sammy and I'm looking for helpful information for someone making the big adjustment of arriving. Of course, there are plenty of resources but nothing beats someone's personal story.
